Wake up, grab coffee on the balcony, watch the sailboats drift across the bay. This bright 2-bedroom hideaway sits on a breezy Playa del Coco hillside with a resort-style pool and the beach a 5-minute walk away. Inside: a full kitchen, comfy living room, a king bed plus a bunk room, two full baths and washer/dryer in the condo. Grab the boogie boards and skim board, fire up the grill, and chase sunsets that turn the sky pink. The beach is close, the pace is slow, and you will not want to leave.
The condo sits on a hillside above the bay, so the balcony gets the breeze and the sunset every evening. It sleeps six across two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
Bedroom 1 has a king bed. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed, which kids tend to claim immediately. Both bathrooms are full baths with hot water, and there are room-darkening shades throughout for anyone who wants to sleep past sunrise.
The kitchen is fully equipped and set up for real cooking, not just reheating: stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, blender, rice maker, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, and a proper set of dishes, cookware and wine glasses. There is a dining table indoors and an outdoor dining area on the balcony.
A washer and dryer are in the unit, so you can pack light and rinse the salt out of everything.
Outside your door is the resort-style pool with sun loungers, and a gas BBQ grill with utensils for the evenings you would rather stay in. We leave boogie boards and a skim board for you to take down to the water.
Air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, fast wifi plus a wired ethernet connection, a dedicated workspace if you need to check in with the office, a safe for your passports, and free parking on the property.
Playa del Coco is the most walkable beach town in this part of Guanacaste, and that is the whole appeal. The beach is about five minutes on foot, downhill, and the sand curves around a calm bay that is good for swimming and better for watching the sun go down.
The main strip has everything within a few blocks: sodas serving casado for a few dollars, ceviche places, proper restaurants, a couple of bakeries, two supermarkets, an ATM and a pharmacy. You do not need a car to eat well here.
Coco is also the launching point for the water. Snorkeling and dive boats leave from the bay, and catamaran sunset sails are easy to book same-day. Playa Hermosa and Playa Ocotal are both a short drive if you want a quieter stretch of sand, and Playas del Coco sits about 40 minutes from Liberia international airport.
The condo is in a gated community, so the pool and grounds stay quiet even in high season.
Maximum occupancy: 6 guests
No smoking inside the unit (outdoor balcony smoking permitted)
No pets, please
Quiet hours: 10pm to 7am per community guidelines
